Innovations are part of a long tradition in our Company's history, which owes its origins to the enterprise and energy of Friedrich Duss, who founded a small workshop in Neubulach, in 1920, for the production of electrical control panels and DC motors.
Company founder
From a small family business, a modern industrial undertaking evolved, specialising in power drills, rotary hammers and diamond core drills which, thanks to a spirit of inventiveness and countless patents, has acquired an international reputation. Among its outstanding successes, DUSS can claim a number of technological achievements which, today, are taken for granted by users on building sites.
Thus, at the beginning of the 1950s, DUSS startled the building trade with the invention of a fully insulated, hand-held drill. At about the same time, a two-speed rotary drill with pistol grip also bore the name of DUSS.
P 50 in the year 1964, combi hammer with pneumatic hammering mechanism
The Company was responsible for another milestone at the beginning of the 1960s with the development of a electro-pneumatic combi hammer, which, for the first time, featured an integrated dust extraction, a safety clutch, a drilling/chiselling selector switch and oil mist lubrication - all revolutionary at the time.
Moreover, since then, DUSS has repeatedly astonished the experts in the field with new developments, a long series of which extend all the way to the present day. A few years ago, the Company was able to introduce the world's first SDS-max combi hammer in the 4-kilo class.
Patent for rotary hammer P 50 in the year 1963
We look with pride on our DIA 303 W three-speed diamond core drill, which is admired for its outstanding performance and compact angular design.
While applications may have changed, our original policy still holds good. As always, we give priority to the quest for the optimum in industrial products, made to the highest quality standards. This principle runs like a red thread through the entire history of the DUSS Company. A living, innovative tradition which we maintain with the utmost conviction and commitment.
Pioneering spirit born on passion:
Friedrich Duss establishes a workshop at Neubulach in the Black Forest for the production of electric control panels and DC motors.
Introduction of an electric rotary drill at the Industrial Exhibition in Leipzig.
DUSS produces a masterpiece in its P 50 electro-pneumatic rotary hammer featuring an integrated dust extraction safety clutch, oil mist lubrication and drilling/chiselling selector switch, for the first time.
In the P 28, DUSS introduces the lightest electro-pneumatic combi hammer.
Powerful and practical -
the PK 40 is DUSS's first, pure demolition hammer.
A DUSS original -
the PX 46 is the world's lightest combi hammer with SDS-max chuck.
Potentially record-breaking!
The PK 160 and PK 300 demolition hammers achieve levels of performance comparable with compressor powered models.
All-embracing technology -
DUSS offers a complete range of diamond core drills for wet and dry use.
The DIA 303 W is the world's first compact, angled diamond core drill with a three-speed gearbox.
RVA (Recoil Vibration Absorber)
The combi hammers and breakers with the novel vibration damping offer superior performance and significantly reduced vibrations
